The first thing people ask about him when they see a picture of Levan Saginashvili is what’s the size of his biceps, How about those giant forearms? How much does he weight and how much can Levan curl?

Those are all viable questions that could satisfy the curiosity of the unbiased observer seeing this giant man for the first time, but what about the record holder Levan Saginashvili? It surely takes more than a pair of giant biceps to be a champion. Here are the facts about Levan, a.k.a the Georgian Hulk:

  • 7x World Arm-wrestling Champion
  • 6x European Arm-wrestling Champion
  • Winner of the World Cup 2017
  • Winner of Top 8 (2019)
  • Winner of the King of the Table 4 Supermatch against Devon Larratt

That’s quite the impressive resumé. But you wouldn’t expect anything less from someone who is considered the strongest arm wrestler of all time, wouldn’t you? Now is the right time to make it clear how big of a man we are talking about here. Before we talk about Levan’s record, let’s break down the size of Levan Saginashvili’s biceps, and other important arm wrestling measurements. Those would be the parameters of Levan that define him as an arm wrestler:

  • Competitive Weight: 180 kg
  • Height 190 cm
  • Biceps: 61 cm
  • Forearms 50 cm

The Record

The record of Levan Saginashvili is linked to his pledge to win every professional arm wrestling match. And so he did deliver on his pledge, starting with his first supermatch in 2017. He dominated every single contest since Euroarm 2017 — held in Poland on both hands, but recently he’s been repeatedly challenged on right hand. The last six supermatches of Levan Saginashvili looked like this:

  • King of the Table 4 (2022) 6:0 against Devon Larrat
  • Vendetta Top 8 (2021) 6:0 against Dave Chaffee
  • Zloty Tur & Vendeta Top 8 (2019) 6:0 against Vitaly Laleting
  • Vendeta Top 8 (2019) 6:0 against Kydyrgaly Ongarbaev
  • Vendeta Top 8 (2019) 6:0 Tim Bresnan
  • Vendeta — All Stars #50 6:0 Dimitry Trubin

Pretty convincing, isn’t it? The only man believed to be strong enough to stop the Georgian Hulk is (ironically) the Ukranian Hulk - Denis Cyplenkov. The latter has returned to arm wrestling after a long period marked by health problems and recovery.

The clash Levan Saginashvili vs Denis Cyplenkov will take place at the East vs West 5 event this November, albeit in the form of a friendly after pull. All eyes are on these two incredible athletes, hopefully they will give us the answer if anyone can beat Levan.

I am not saying that anyone wants to see how Levan Saginashvili loses, but any true fan of arm wrestling would root for Denis who’s been through such hardship. Moreover, he’s a champion worthy of recognition. If anyone deserves to put an end to Levan’s record, that would be Denis Cyplenkov.
